CROW ORNAMENT is hand-printed on lignin-free recycled kraft chipboard using oil-based Cranfield inks in my studio in Blue Hill, Maine, from a hand-carved block in battleship gray linoleum. A small punch at the top is threaded with a black twine hanging loop. Approximately 9 x 11 inches. Crows mean many things in many traditions, but across several you’ll find them associated with curiosity and creativity. Originally this block was carved for my Northern Crow print, but I had one as table decoration for an art market and people kept asking to buy it. Why not? So I’ve made up some more.
Because each print is an original, please expect minor variations in the texture, cutting, and inking as compared to the samples shown. These are unique characteristics of the hand-printing process that make your print one of a kind.
