Another new card design! “I Have Taken Quite a Lichen to You” features a pattern of British Soldier (Cladonia cristatella), Gray Reindeer (Cladonia rangiferina), and Pink Earth Lichens (Dibaeis baeomyces)—all frequently seen along the trails here, from Barred Island Preserve on Deer Isle to the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia. I’m endlessly fascinated by their structures and pops of color. I’ve even thrown in some Haircap Moss (Polytrichum commune) for good measure.
