Hi Water Press is the imprint under which Bloof offers original artwork by Shanna Compton. The Hi Water Press Shop at Bloof Books offers selected prints, collages, and cards. Hello! As of June 2023, I’m temporarily closing the Hi Water Press shop while I am focused on summer art festivals and a session at Haystack. If you’re in Midcoast Maine, do come see me in Belfast—you’ll find my schedule below.

About the artist

Shanna Compton is a printmaker and poet in Blue Hill, ME. She works primarily in linocut, collage, monotype, screen print, and mixed media analog+digital illustration. She also works as a commercial book designer and illustrator, collaborating with more than a dozen independent publishers.

She is the author of five books of poems: Creature Sounds Fade (Black Lawrence Press), Midwinter Constellation (coauthor, Black Lawrence Press), Brink (Bloof Books), For Girls & Other Poems (Bloof Books), Down Spooky (Winnow Press). Her poems have appeared in publications such as the Nation, American Poetry Review, the Academy of American Poets Poem-a-Day series, Court Green, Bennington Review, Black Warrior Review, Typo, and The Best American Poetry anthology series.
